About the project
“MITEC. REHABILITATION SPACE” is an innovative program for the artistic and psychotherapeutic rehabilitation of ATO/JFO veterans and former prisoners of the “DPR/LPR.” Teams from two non-governmental organizations—“MITEC” and the “Lviv Psychoanalytic Institute of Mental Health”—are working to bring this program to life.
Over the course of 9 months, program participants take part in 8 master classes in various art forms: graphic art, painting, photography, ceramics, collage, land art, sound art, and performance dance. The workshops are led by leading Ukrainian artists: Oleksii Apollonov, Valerii Miloserdov, Serhii Yakunin, Oleksandr Milovzorov, Kateryna Svirgunenko, Alona Mamai, Bohdan Moroz, and others.
The project will culminate in the creation of an art book and the development of a methodology by psychotherapists.
During the master classes, professional psychotherapists and psychoanalysts work with the program participants. Meanwhile, professional artists—Serhiy Zakharov (a former prisoner of the “DPR”) and Dmytro Kolomoytsev (an ATO veteran)—keep art journals and document the art therapy process.
